For those of you who are joining in the Mountain Biking adventure... here is a reminder with all the details...

Friday Evening - Pre-event meeting & Cyclist Badge

Meet at: Scout Hall on Cumlodden Drive, at 1900 on Friday 10th July
Collect from: Scout Hall on Cumlodden Drive, at 2030 on Friday 10th July
Bring / wear: Wear cub uniform, an old t-shirt and old trousers (in case you get oil on them)

Satuday - The Event - Mountain Biking in Glentress

The Planned Activity: Mountain Biking on Forestry Commission Trails in Glentress… Mountain bikes will be hired there for all participants. We will shuttle the kids and their bikes up to the top car park, and they can enjoy the descent from there… so it should be fun even if they’re not used to riding uphill! There is a skills park for them to learn mountain biking skills, and a funpark where they can practice (and watch) stunts. A BBQ tea will be provided, but they’ll need to bring their own packed lunch.

Meet at: Cauldercuilt School, at 0800 on Saturday 11th July

Collect from: Cauldercuilt School, at 2030 on Saturday 11th July (we’ll text if this changes on the day)

Transport: This will be provided in leaders and parent helpers’ cars, or our hired van.

Booster seats: If you are less than 4’5” (135cm) tall please bring your own booster seat – this is essential to keep you safe, and your drivers legal!

Weather: We’ll still go if it rains… there is some shelter from the trees but it could still be wet! So bring plenty of warm and waterproof clothes even if it looks sunny in Glasgow. The forecast is for rain, so make sure they are prepared well!

Wear:
Wear old clothes including shorts and t-shirt, and shoes that can get muddy

Bring:
A full change of clothes and shoes, and a small old towel to leave in the car
Waterproofs and gloves
Body armour and full face helmets if you have them
A packed lunch and plenty of water or juice (bottles are better than cans or cartons)
Suncream and midge repellent
A small rucksack to put it all in
