Auchengillan Farewell!

Spuds final adventure with the 4th Glasgow Cubs was a day packed with activities at Auchengillan last Sunday!

We were fortunate that the weather held out, despite the fact that it poured in the city of Glasgow!

Once again, this activity was part-funded by The Allander Youth Activities Trust... to the tune of a tenner per child. So a huge Thank You goes to the Trust again... for this activity and all the others supported during the last year.

We played rounders and some wide games... I'm glad to say the Eagle Haws met up safely with the Blue Eyes, so they avoided capture by the Terrorists!

We had quite a bit of mad fun sliding down the hillside on our water slide... all the more fun thanks to some morning fresh... who said boys are scared of soap and water...!?

We all had a chance to go Crate Climbing... it was a bit wobbly up there once there were 11 on top of each other... getting to 12 proved quite a challenge! Crash!

We were also all able to walk on water... these huge hamster balls gave us quite a work-out - especially with the sun burning down on us!

And we were challenged to complete a load of tasks as a team by the 'Gillan staff who laid on some Team Building games.

Overall, the lads had a great day... and it was a nice way for me to finish up with the Group. I'm handing the baton over to the rest of the team now... they'll be in touch with a start date for next term in due course.

Quite a few of you Cubs are now between 10.5 and 11 years old... you should start thinking about finding a Scout Troop to join... you'll find the nearest one in Bearsden, but there are also other Groups in the area. I'm sure Graham will be able to point you in the direction of Scout Troops around and about!
